The problem
Hazard alerts for East Africa are spread across several international feeds. Analysts needed them on one map, kept current, with sources they could swap.
What I built
- Pluggable provider layer for GDACS, ReliefWeb, Open-Meteo and HumData.
- Celery and Redis for scheduled ingestion; HTMX and Leaflet for a fast map interface without a heavy front-end build.
Outcome
- Deployed to the UNEP World Environment Situation Room sandbox.
